Fellowship Baptist Church, located 35 miles south of Chicago in South Chicago Heights, is seeking a Bi-Vocational pastor called by God to be the spiritual and administrative leader of the congregation. The pastor is responsible to God and the church to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, to live holy, preach and teach the Holy Bible, to provide Christian Leadership and to engage in pastoral care of the congregation. Our expectations for the right candidate are:
- Be a bible believing married (never divorced) called of God and set apart to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in accordance with the Southern Baptist Faith and ordinances.
- A skilled leader, demonstrate a high level of competence, a man who in compassionate and exemplifies a godly character and led by the Holy Spirit.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Pastor and/or Associate Pastor.
- Completed education from an accredited or recognized bible school.
- Licensed/ordained by a recognized Southern Baptist church.
- Plan and conduct worship services, develop sermons, planning with music and worship workers and event committees.
- Lead the congregation efficiently and effectively to fulfill the mission and vision of the church in accordance with bible principles, using techniques that will educate, inspire and edify the church into holy Christian living and assist members in achieving their personal spiritual goals.
- Oversee the Deacons Board, all ministries or departments of the church including interacting on website and social media.
